Home Condition Survey is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). All work is therefore carried out by a qualified member of the RICS and the company is fully insured.

A note on property purchase:
Many properties are purchased without a survey of any kind being carried out - alarmingly, as many as four in every five. A valuation is not a report on condition, whether for mortgage purposes or otherwise. This means that serious problems can come to light following occupation and unforeseen costs incurred, sometimes running into many thousands of pounds.
The only way of being fully assured as to the condition of a property at the time of purchase is to have a survey carried out.
Obviously there is an initial cost implication, but this constitutes a very small percentage of the purchase price. Furthermore, in the vast majority of cases, costs associated with repair work identified in the course of carrying out a Survey far exceed this small initial outlay.
